Happy New Year to all our Thunder Runners and fellow sporting friends. Something new is happening for January....
Thunderfit is here! For the month of January we will all be undertaking lots of different surprise exercise types to vary our training....good luck team!! Every day we will pick the next days activity out of a hat and will include exercise 10-30mins. Perfect for those not fit (me) not hardcore (me) or a warm up for others. The days will include a mixture of HIIT exercises, running, rest days (!) and 'your choice' The fantastic Heidi Wilkes only went and raced the train!! This event is an annual cross country running event that takes place in Tywyn, Mid Wales across 14 miles. Good work Heidi!
The Thunder Runners have some wonder junior runners who took part in the Big Fun Run today at Markeaton Park. Well done to Oscar and Romy (who escorted their mum Clare) around the 5k route.

Back to the place where it all began! This year new sponsors and new team members!! Continental have taken over from Adidas as the sponsors for this event, and we have a few new members joining the gang! So we saw 2 teams of 8 and a duo(!) partake in this event totalling 50 laps!! Mention must go out to Sarah Black-Smith and Oli Parkinson who were the duo team totalling 14 laps altogether and on retiring they were second!! In the TR team this year were: Clare Parkinson, Sarah Black-Smith, Jo Garzoni, Oli Parkinson, Gar-Yee Wong, Pete Lambert, Amy Rushton, Rhiannon Jones, Natalie Yau, May-Yee Wong, Simon Hacking, Darren Hersey, Claire NicFhionnghaile, Colin Black-Smith, Maurizio Garzoni and Andrew Bagley! Will be some sore legs tomorrow, but truly well deserved!! From these pictures, you will see it wasn't just about the running!! This should be renamed the iron woman because we have 2 awesome members who completed this today!!
